The NZLS’s new General Manager Representative, Glenda Macdonald, is not new to working within a legal environment.
For five years she was marketing director of Simpson Grierson in Auckland before leaving to form her own business, Glenda Macdonald Marketing.
Lawyers also featured among her clients in that business, along with people from a range of enterprises, including insurance, global export, apparel and agriculture.
Glenda has two roles within the NZLS. As well as being General Manager Representative, she is the Auckland Branch Manager.
She is not a lawyer, coming to the society with a background in marketing, business management and financial management – although not as a financial adviser.
Before joining Simpson Grierson, she was with Roche Products for many years. Glenda started there as product manager and then became a business unit manager before becoming the firm’s marketing director. In that role, she was significantly involved in the high-profile launch of one of Roche’s products, the well-known Xenical.
